While substantial progress has been made in recent years in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality, inequities and disparities persist. As a result, many LGBTQ+ people avoid situations that could lead to being discriminated against, including delaying and avoiding necessary health care. This concerns us deeply. Dignity Health welcomes LGBTQ+ patients with a wide range of care and arms-open-wide compassion. It’s a commitment that extends to the 1980s when we were among the first to respond to the AIDS crisis. Today we continue to care for LGBTQ+ patients who have too long faced barriers to accessing the care they need with both primary and specialty services—including a broad spectrum of gender-affirming services for trans men and women.
